So I decided not to waste my Saturday so I got up early and went garage sale hunting with the family. I was on the grind trying to look for vintage postcards or some old vinyl records. But because it is a long weekend in Canada (Labour Day) it is slim pickings on garage sales.
We spent more time driving around than we did going to actual sales. This is the first time that I encountered I this though:

The guy at the end of the ramp looks like the guy off the pawn reality shows. |
I usually envision garage sales at a actual house. It was a garage sale out of the back of the truck. The add said it started at 7am but that was false. We went to other garage sales and circled back. It was a waste of time for a variety of reasons. It was all junk. Funniest random item: a bag of rice. And I didn't wish to pay 5 bucks for a crate of plastic and beat up toys that looked like they came from the dollar store. The guy had offered me a full milk crate worth. That was like telling me - hey you go and get rid of this for me at value village.

Signature thumbs-up even though the garage sale sucked! |
So most of the garage sales were a bust. Until I found this gem for a dollar:

Could I get $30 for this tv tray on E-Bay? Baaaa-Zinga! |

So my morning wasn't a waste and it gave me an excuse to hang with my family. Here is another precious memory:

And finally since this blog is about mail I should talk about mail. Today I spent the afternoon prepping 11 letters and postcards for my pen-pals and postcrossing account. Here is the finished product ready to mail :
