People depend on me!

How can I disappoint my loyal fans by letting a week lapse between posts? I have tons to talk about. But I'm tired. I think I will let the pictures do the talking for my road trip to Sault Ste Marie Michigan. It was a six hour drive and here are the adventures:

All leading up to the ultimate goal:

The Casino!!!!!

Part 2 of this trip will be posted later.

Everyone is harping!

Between my brother and my favorite gal harping on me to update this blog I thought I would take a gander and update this. So here goes nothing............

This weekend flew by. It seems like I never have enough time for anything. I managed to stay on top of my postcrossing and sending mail to Kate. I cranked out 4 pieces of mail today. I have a swap that I just completed with someone in Russia who wants Canadian stamps. Done and done.

But it's not all about the mail. Today in Canada it is the annual Terry Fox Run. (To international fans: the Terry Fox Run is an annual fundraiser for cancer research) It was a 6km run and I donated 40 dollars. Here are some photos:

Warm-up to the Black Eye Peas!

Home stretch!

Oops. This isn't Terry Fox.

And done!

Enjoy!

Storage Wars!

So I decided not to waste my Saturday so I got up early and went garage sale hunting with the family. I was on the grind trying to look for vintage postcards or some old vinyl records. But because it is a long weekend in Canada  (Labour Day) it is slim pickings on garage sales.
We spent more time driving around than we did going to actual sales. This is the first time that I encountered I this though:

The guy at the end of the ramp looks like the guy off the pawn reality shows.

I usually envision garage sales at a actual house. It was a garage sale out of the back of the truck. The add said it started at 7am but that was false. We went to other garage sales and circled back. It was a waste of time for a variety of reasons. It was all junk. Funniest random item: a bag of rice. And I didn't wish to pay 5 bucks for a crate of plastic and beat up toys that looked like they came from the dollar store. The guy had offered me a full milk crate worth. That was like telling me  - hey you go and get rid of this for me at value village.

Signature thumbs-up even though the garage sale sucked!

So most of the garage sales were a bust. Until I found this gem for a dollar:

Could I get $30 for this tv tray on E-Bay? Baaaa-Zinga!

So my morning wasn't a waste and it gave me an excuse to hang with my family. Here is another precious memory:

Where is my reality show?

And finally since this blog is about mail I should talk about mail. Today I spent the afternoon prepping 11 letters and postcards for my pen-pals and postcrossing account. Here is the finished product ready to mail :

See you in the mail!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend loyal followers!

Bloggitty Blog Blog Blog..................

Well everyone: I ran the 5th annual Golden Trails half-marathon in Timmins, Ontario on August 21 2011.  The weather was excellent. It wasn't too hot or too cold. Just right as Goldilocks says. Ha!
My time was 2h5m which was better than last years (2h8m) and not as good as my best time (1h52m). I survived it and got the medal. Yay!

Well time to post some pics......

 Halfway point!

Home stretch.

Ahhh... the finish!

What?

I was reading some random college blog about a person's experience being away at college.  Here is a sample version of one of the posts about adjusting to college life:

I caught the bus to the grocery store and bought a bottle of windex. I was walking back to the bus stop and I noticed that the windex was leaking onto my bag of groceries. Oh no! I was getting upset. Luckily when I got home the rest of my groceries were okay and I still had a almost full bottle of windex. Ahhhh.... the joys of college.

If this is considered "excitement" at college I don't recommend that this person watch American Pie or any other similar movie in case their head explodes from sensory overload.

No Excuse!

Oops!  A week went by and no update from me. Sorry about that folks. Don't worry though as I have been collecting lots of photos and putting myself in hilarious situations to get some blog stories. My buddies can verify this.
I spent the weekend in Sudbury Ontario. This town is growing on me. My only complaint is that their downtown is so grimy and dirty. Sudbury's downtown in all it's rough shape is still better than where I live. Anyways I digress.

I ran a half marathon again. It was the 5th annual (and my 5th time running) Timmins Golden Trails festival.  My time was 2:05 which was not my worst (2:22) or my best (1:52). I'm satisfied. I will post some pictures later.
