Grenade Free Zone!

Here is a juicy update for everyone. I'm currently hanging with 3 attractive girls and are planning to hit up the nightlife. And they all love Jersey Shore. Ha!

Birthday Robano!

It is my birthday! So a big shout out to my self. I was busy all day at work. I mailed out a letter and a postcard to Australia after work. (the letter was a direct swap) I wrote the letter while having a decaf cafe americano.
Then I went for a family dinner. (Thanks family!) and then I went to martial arts. Currently I'm playing NBA Jam for a bit at a friends house. I can't wait to get home because I received a postcard from Japan. (perfect timing!)
The running joke is that I chose the name Rab for my sign in on NBA Jam because I need to increase my stats and blog about it. (Ha!)

So that was my day. I have some loyal followers now so I feel bad if I don't update my blog. (Shout out to a Bengals fan!) Ha!

I promise my weekend (Sat) will be hardcord blogging and journalling. I need to catch up on things and I wish to add some pictures to my blog and have a monthly update on my goals.

I have tons of funny stories that happened today but alas they have to be saved to paper only.

Sing a birthday song to me in your head if you must blog followers.

Just call me Electro!

Man oh man! I have some juicy stories that just happened but alas I can't let them rip on my blog. (see my previous post) But I guess I can tell some other random stories to keep this blog moving. I'm loving this blog and have tons of random rants that I could talk about all day.

Alex Jones

I am a fan now of Alex Jones. (Website plug: infowars.com) I'm listening now and he just made a valid point on his talk show this morning:

"People in China are getting sick from fumes working 18 hours in factories producing I-Pads while American children plug into the matrix and spend time staring at an I-Pod or I-Pad screen instead of spending time with family or friends"  -Alex Jones

This I agree with 100 percent. Read No Logo. It is an eye opener also.

Electric Circus

Last Monday I was driving to the local sports arena to curl. I noticed a police car in the parking lot and thought it was strange for a police car to just be sitting there. Then I noticed a snow plow on the far side of the lot. I thought that was weird also. I parked anyways and got out. Literally two seconds later the parking lot is surrounded by fire department and an ambulance.
So what was going on? The snowplow had hit a pole and knocked down a power line. And where had I parked? Right in front of the downed line. Classic. You think the Police Officer would have had his flashing lights on to warn me or something.
I had gotten out like nothing was wrong.Right after I go out and headed into the arena the fire department blocked off the lot. At least I had a curling game to go and didn't need my car. By the end of the curling match (we won!) the parking lot was back to normal. Thank God nothing happened to me. How random is this!

Postcrossing

So I am officially at 10 recieved and 10 sent. I have a few direct swaps I'm participating in (2) and I have the potential for 3 more direct swaps. I'm loving my postcard adventures. I have managed to convert 3 people to become postcrossers.

Choice City!

I wish I could just write all the random stories that happen to me in real life. It would be super interesting and probably get more viewers than my choice of video game I play on a Friday night. Thankfully I journal the old fashion way (pen and paper) so most of the juicy stories have been archived.

But alas with the world wide web I  have to keep some things private and besides I can't give away all my material if they make a movie/show/web episode of my life. (Think Kramer with The J. Peterman reality show). Ha!

So why is my entry called choice city? Well it turns out that in Febuary I have some choices on where to travel for a weekend. The choices are:

  1. Sudbury Half Marathon (Hypothermic Half Marathon
  2. Toronto (an excuse I will call the "Great Postcard Hunt")
  3. Barrie/Orillia
I'm torn because I miss the T0 and I would love a chance to scrounge for some postcards. I'm tired of sending postcards that have a picture of an Ontario forest. But also wish to get back in the half marathon game and earn another medal. Plus I could look for postcards in Sudbury.

Next topic:

I watched the first Mad Max movie. It has been long time since I seen any of the trilogy. The first one was too boring even for me. So I watched the second one last night. The second one is the movie I remember watching. And I don't recall watching the third one (Beyond the Thunderdome).

Down with Seth Rogen!

I used to like Seth Rogen but I do not anymore. This is why I'm happy to report that the reviews of Green Hornet are not postive. I could have told the reviewers that myself without wasting time seeing it. I think it looks silly just from the previews.

So why do I not like Seth Rogen? Basically because I find that his early movies were gems (Super Bad, Knocked Up) but lately his movies cater to the lowest common demominator. Examples of this include: Pineapple Express, Observe and Report and now the Green Hornet.

Do not even get me started on Pineapple Express. It is one of the worst movies I have seen. Skip this one trust me.

I do not know why I am even rambling about this. Next topic:

Postcrossing News

So far the stats are: 9 sent and 8 received. I received a postcard from Los Angeles the other day which I thought was cool. (The only states I have visited are Michigan and Minnesota. And I love Minnesota! Minnesota reminds me of Ontario. There is a few difference though; in Minnesota you can drink alcohol in open areas outside stadiums and in places like hotel pools which you cannot in Ontario.)

So the running joke was that my friend said I made up the LA post card to make myself cool. Somehow I don't think I'm worried about being "cool" with a hobby about postcards.

Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle.

I finally hooked up my X-Box 360 back up to X-Box LIVE last Sunday. And even though I used my X-Box for a year without playing online I still felt something was missing. I will use the analogy that my friend once told me. He said "Rob: owning a computer without having the internet is like owning a car without an engine". That can be applied to X-Box LIVE also.

So I guess I caught up for lost time because somehow I managed to play online all afternoon and all evening. I only took a break to eat dinner and watch two episodes of the Simpsons (FYI this is not how I spend my typical weekends and free time).

So what was I playing? I was playing my most favorite game: Left 4 Dead 2. And to qoute someone else: "killing zombies is inherently fun". This is true. The game changes each time with the layout of zombies so it is like playing a different game each time.

So far I have been playing Scavenge online. In this scenario you have to grab as many "gas cans" as you can and fill the generator before the infected (zombies) stop you. It is hilarious playing as the infected and stopping the other online players from filling the generators.

I have many tricks of the trade I have learned. I like to hide close to the generators and then when someone is about to fill up I use the special infected's ability on them. So if I'm a smoker I grab them with the tongue and drag them away. Spitting acid on the them and them having the dropped gas can catch on fire is hilarious also. My fave is when the player gets knocked down and is helpless and you also set a bunch of cans on fire. The player is literally "cooked". Ha.Ha.
I also like to catch characters that are isolated and alone. Once you snag them it is lights out for them. And if I'm not concentrating on protecting the generator I will focus on the characters that are limping, weak etc. And finally if I'm the boomer I like dropping puke on someone that is already struggling against the infected.
The computer chooses randomly which infected you play so you hope you get a one when you need it. The only one I don't like playing is the boomer. The boomers ability is to spit puke which calls out infected to attack the character. The boomer is okay but he is like a one hit wonder. You are most likely able to only puke once and then the players blow you up. And for getting characters to drop gas cans this character has no ability to do that. (aside from a weak swipe attack)
I dont mind playing as a human character but it sucks when you get stuck with players that don't know what they are doing. It is annoying when everyone runs off in different directions and no one covers each other. That is a recipe for disaster because that lets you get picked off by special infected. Another peeve is when they stockpile gas cans as they are running around the level. I know it saves some time but if you leave too many gas cans beside each other it is easy for a spitter to spit on them and cause them all to catch on fire.
I guess I am a "gas hog" because I mainly grab gas cans and rush fast to fill the generator. I know I should protect other characters but I get greedy I guess.

When I first fired up X-box live I was also annoyed because for the first bit I was constantly being voted out of games. I may have been a tad rusty but I don't think I'm that bad of player. Thankfully I do not get voted out anymore.

And I got worried when I seen the dreaded "red ring of death" . My XBOX was flashing with the red lights and the screen said some system error and stuff. I thought I was cooked but I reset it and it works fine now. I did not think that was possible. I thought once you see red that is it.
My buddy says to unload it because that also happened to his friend and 3 weeks later it was fried. I also took some zings on facebook. I metioned the red ring of death and my buddy said it was from overuse. Zing!

Life imitating art

Here is a random story (I wish I had a camera with me at the time). I had a seen a person wearing a leather jacket that had a a full image of Bowser from Super Mario on it! (Remember those old eight ball style jackets from the past)
I did a double take when I seen it because the person actually looked like a Mario character! Classic!
I cannot take credit for the joke that followed when I told a friend.
The friend said that that guy better had better watch out or someone will do a Mario and Luigi combo on his head. Pure Genius!

In other news:

On Saturday I received 3 postcards in the mail. (fom postcrossing). The total is now: 8 sent and 7 received.
I am cutting this entry short again because I am using the broken computer and it is driving me nuts. You do not know how painful this entry is type!
